How does escrow payment work?
Your money never flows directly between you and the professional. Check Boat acts as a trusted third party at every step, through our partner Stripe (PCI-DSS level 1).
Pre-payment on confirmation
When the proposal is accepted, the amount is charged and held in escrow at Stripe. Neither you nor the professional can access it.
Mission tracking
The professional carries out the mission and communicates with the owner via secure messaging.
Funds locked until the end
The professional cannot receive the funds until the mission has been officially validated.
Refund on cancellation
If the professional cancels the mission before it starts, the funds are returned to you according to our cancellation policy.
