Last updated: 01/01/2025
Preamble
[To be completed] Check-Boat operates a platform connecting boat owners with nautical professionals (skippers, mechanics, concierge services). These terms and conditions govern the use of this platform.
Definitions
[To be completed] In these T&Cs, the following terms mean: "Platform": the website check-boat.com; "Owner": any individual or legal entity owning a boat and seeking a service provider; "Professional" or "Pro": any nautical professional offering services via the Platform; "Mission": the service agreed between an Owner and a Professional.
Purpose
[To be completed] These T&Cs define the rights and obligations of users when using the Check-Boat Platform.
Access to the platform
[To be completed] Access to the Platform is open to any adult individual or legal entity. Use of the services requires creating a user account.
Registration and user account
[To be completed] Registration is free. Users agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. The Platform reserves the right to suspend or delete any account in case of non-compliance with these T&Cs.
Missions and bookings
[To be completed] Missions are initiated by the Owner via the Platform. The Professional accepts or declines the request. Once accepted, the mission is confirmed and payment is held in escrow until the service is completed.
Payment and escrow
[To be completed] Payments are processed via Stripe Connect. Funds are held in escrow by Check-Boat until the mission is validated. Payment to the Professional is released after the service is completed and confirmed by the Owner.
Check-Boat commission
[To be completed] Check-Boat charges a commission on each completed mission. The commission rate varies by service type and is displayed at the time of booking. The commission is automatically deducted at the time of payment.
Referral programme
[To be completed] The referral programme allows users to earn rewards by inviting new users to register on the Platform. Rewards are granted when the referee completes their first paid mission. For Owners: commission discount on a defined number of missions. For Professionals: visibility boost in search results for a defined period. Rewards are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or combined with other offers.
Liability
[To be completed] Check-Boat acts as an intermediary between Owners and Professionals. The Platform is not a party to the service contract. Check-Boat cannot be held liable for the quality of services rendered or for damages caused during the execution of a mission.
Disputes and mediation
[To be completed] In the event of a dispute between an Owner and a Professional, the Platform provides a dispute resolution system. If mediation fails, the parties may resort to the competent courts.
Applicable law
[To be completed] These T&Cs are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts.
